Happily Ever After – Disney Honeymoons

So you have just had your dream wedding, and now it’s time for a magical honeymoon and, what better place than one known for its magic. That’s right, Disney can be the perfect place not only for family vacations, reunions, summer trips, and weddings but honeymoons too. With so many resorts to choose from, a Disneymoon offers not only romance but adventure, world-class dining, and extra helpings of pixie dust all along the way to make your honeymoon feel extra special.

We’ve got some great tips and information on cost, planning, and the best Disney resorts to make you feel like Cinderella or Prince Charming and live out your romantic daydreams.

Disney Honeymoon Cost

Lets first talk about how much a Disney honeymoon can cost because we know and understand that cost can be a factor for many couples. A Disney Honeymoon can cost anywhere from $4,000 to $10,000 depending on how long you stay, what type of park tickets you want, if you prefer a deluxe resort versus a value resort, among other things. You can go all out and pay upwards of $1500 a night or keep it simple and pay around 200 a night + resort fees.

Disney Honeymoon Planning Tips

Hire a Disney Travel Agent!

We can not stress this enough! Working with an authorized Disney vacation planner is critical. Weddings and all the planning that goes into it are stressful enough. Don’t put yourself through unnecessary stress work with a travel planner specializing in Disney destinations who knows all the ins and outs, tips and tricks, to make your honeymoon unique and stress-free. DO NOT book on your own; use an expert. As a Disney Certified travel advisor, they work for you and are there to help you find the right fit for you and your special person.

Book Early

Plan and make bookings well in advance. Don’t wait until the last minute to start thinking about your honeymoon talk with your travel advisor and let her know what your hopes and dreams are for your trip. Many of the most romantic activities at Disney require reservations to be made well in advance from VIP tours, romantic boat rides to watch the fireworks, to dinner reservations.

Let Everyone in on Your Newlywed Status

When you arrive as honeymooners, you can pick up a complimentary celebratory button from any cast member, Disney Guest Services location, or at check-in. When you let cast members know you are celebrating your honeymoon, more “pixie dust” get’s sprinkled your way and special attention you get. I’ve personally seen a cast member give a bride a groom trading pins, and watched a newlywed couple open a park one day. Not that those are things that typically happen, but you never know when a little magic may be sprinkled your way. So wear that pin and let everyone know the happy news.

Disney Honeymoon Packages

So, let’s talk packages, Disney doesn’t offer honeymoon packages per se but, when you work with your travel advisor they will help you build your own customized, unique, tailored honeymoon package that suits you and all your wants. You can also set up a honeymoon registry directly through Disney that allows your friends and family to gift you some of your dream experiences. They can buy MagicBands, meals, theme park tickets, souvenirs, photo packages, special tours, and sweet surprises.
